Taurus New Moon – Rapid Change & Creation

Major shifts & breaking free from old stories

Welcome to one of the year’s most significant weeks in terms of cosmic energies. Today, on 15 May 2018 (at 10:48pm here in Sydney), we have a New Moon in Taurus. This marks the start of a 7-year-long cycle that is (quite literally) paving some big shifts and changes.

Whilst New Moons are always a time of new beginnings, this one is particularly potent. Within hours of the New Moon, Uranus moves into Taurus for the first time in 84 years and will stay here for the next seven years.

Taurus energy is all about finding security and stability with particular focus on health, family and money. The movements of Uranus, the third-largest planet, impact how we relate to our planet Earth and our innermost values.

Hold on tight and prepare yourself for revelations, lightbulb moments and major changes.

Rapid change – the focus of this New Moon

The energy of change, creation and innovation is the theme of this New Moon. We will discover new grounds and are being forced to accept change as a constant. Practical and well-grounded Taurus dislikes sudden changes and complications, so it is going to be challenging. Because change we must.

Sometimes those changes are small, causing very little impact or destruction and other times they are big having us evaluate everything we believe in and are surrounded by.

The lesson this week lies in getting comfortable with change, finding security and stability from within and learning to accept all the changes that come your way. It is through understanding and acceptance of change that you create stability in your life.

“Change is never painful, only the resistance to change is painful.” – Buddha

Ground yourself well this week – Practise present moment awareness. When you catch yourself worrying about the future and mourning about the past, bring your focus onto all the little things in this moment that are right in your world.

Get into your feeling sense – Explore the ground below your bare feet, look at the skies, listen to the music, smell the air and drop into a nice, comforting thought or memory. Let it be. This simple mantra always supports me in regaining a sense of peace and calm – I hope it does the same for  you.

Get into your body – Practise, dance, swim, run or plant a garden. Release any tension and open up to new energies.

Open your mind & heart – Set intentions for this next cycle. Focus on the new instead of fighting the old. Open up to things you may not have noticed before and support the big shifts this week by creating a new reality for yourself.

Pema Chödrön said: “You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.”

And you are stronger than you think you are. I promise.

As always, I hope it goes well for you this week. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

NB. I’m not an astrologer – never have been and probably never will. However, I am really interested in the moon cycles and/or meanings. That’s a personal choice and not based on any scientific evidence. All the above is a personal collection of words, meanings and research from the following sites:
